In 2018, California saw the most destructive and deadliest forest fires in its state’s history to date. One of those fires hit close to home for Dr. Dan as the Woolsey Fire destroyed homes and demolished the hill sides of Malibu and Ventura County. Over three thousand firefighters were deployed to contain the blaze which took two weeks to fully contain. During this time, Dr. Dan volunteered to treat the brave men and women of the fire department as they came off the front lines from battling the fire. Dr. Dan also visited the Cal Lutheran homeless shelter and treated people who were forced to evacuate their homes due to the fire.
